Walking is simple, free and one of the easiest ways to get more active, lose weight and become healthier. Sometimes overlooked as a form of exercise, walking briskly can help you build stamina, burn excess calories and make your heart healthier.
As well as promoting open air recreational activities Ramblers look to defend our footpaths and rights of way as well as protecting the beauty of the countryside. We are so fortunate here in South Wast Sussex to have incredible natural diversity from the rolling hills of the South Downs to the breathtaking costal beaches of the Witterings and Hayling Island.
Walking, talking, stopping for a cup of coffee and/or a spot of lunch provides great opportunities to meet other people and make new friends. We have an active Social Committee looking after a variety of non-walking events such as a Summer BBQ and perhaps a cheeky cream tea.
